Visual Artist & Painter
Born in Lyon and trained at the École des Beaux-Arts, Élise Moreau has spent twenty years distilling light into paint. Her practice moves between observation and invention — between the world seen and the world felt. She currently lives and works between Paris and New York.
Journey
Received the Prix de la Création for her final-year series on urban light, which went on to show at Galerie Maeght.
A breakthrough show at White Columns introduced her luminous palette to American collectors. Sold out within the opening week.
A pivotal year that produced the "Dissolution" series, later acquired by the Centre Pompidou permanent collection.
A 15-year survey covering over 80 works, attended by more than 40,000 visitors over three months.
The inaugural collection brings together new works alongside beloved classics in a dedicated light-filled space in SoHo, New York.
Notes & Reflections
Thoughts on process, light, and the quiet moments where art is born.
Light is never still. It moves across a canvas the way a thought moves across a mind — present, then gone, transformed into something slightly different. This is why I've spent twenty years in its pursuit and why I'm no closer to catching it.
